Up A Tree Foundation is a small independent company bringing together professionals passionate about theater.
Our experienced creative team is in constant search of different experiments and new findings.
Our field is theatrical, as well as educational and therapeutic projects.
We also conduct various workshops in multi-genre/interdisciplinary fields.
The puppet performances, we created in the last years, were nominated and awarded by prestigious institutions/organizations and festivals in Bulgaria and abroad. Our projects had been part of many festivals in Europe and Asia.
Over the years we have gained experience working with children and adults who are disadvantaged or disabled, including people with Alzheimer's, deaf people, people with autism and emigrants. We strongly believe that theatre has the power to improve our social and educational environment.
Mila Kolarova graduated at the National Academy of theatre and film arts (Sofia, BulgariaI in 2004. Since than she works as independent artist in the field of puppet and drama theatre, creating performances and socially engaged projects. She specialized in different educational and therapeutic theater methods during her work with deaf children and people with Alzheimer disease.
She is a member of the company at the State puppet theatre in Sofia and lecturer at New Bulgarian University.
Her performances were awarded by the Union of Bulgarian Artists and at many festivals in Bulgaria and Europe.
Rumen Gavanozov
has more than 30 years of professional experience in the field of puppet theatre, directing and film acting. He perform at few well-established theaters in Sofia and creates independent theatre projects. As a theatre ens film actor he works with Alexander Morfov, Katya Petrova, Gergana Todeva, Victor Bojinov.
He is a member of the company at the State puppet theatre in Sofia and lecturer at New Bulgarian University.
His performances and acting skills were many times awarded in Bulgaria and abroad.
Vladimir Vassilev graduated at University of Architecture, Civil engineering and Geodesy (Sofia, Bulgaria) in 2002. Through the years he worked and specialized in many different fields - 3D animation and visualization, graphic design, project management, interior design and web design. His art activities are related with music projects where he takes part as a drummer. In the field of theatre he works with “Up A Tree” Foundation as a technical consultant and assistant, sound and light technician, as well as scenographer.
